Jabberwocky
Jabberwocky is a collection of jewellery based on the poem by Lewis Carroll that features in his book 'Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There'. Please click here to read it. >>
The first stanza sets the scene and mentions creatures called Mome Raths and Borogoves which are then described by characters later on in the book. It was the descriptions of these creatures that particularly inspired me. The pieces are made from silver and 18ct gold detail with non-precious materials such as pom-poms and milliput putty. Photoetching my own drawings into the silver helps bring to life these original and distinctive pieces of jewellery. Click on the thumbnails for a closer look.
Most of the collection you see here was made for my Degree Show at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2005. This collection has gone on to inspire many of my more narrative bespoke pieces.
Prices for this kind of work range from £320 to £1000. Please email me for a more detailed pricelist.
